TIXEL SKIN RESURFACING BROUGHT TO SOUTH SOUND BY OMNI CENTERS
Tixel skin resurfacing technology has created quite a buzz in the aesthetic community. Tixel is the latest non-surgical fractional skin rejuvenation system that utilizes heat energy delivery to reduce fine lines and wrinkles while globally improving aging or damaged skin of the face, eyes, neck, and body.Â
Omni Centers introduced Tixel to the South Sound in 2021. Since then, our medical spa has offered Tixel treatments for skin rejuvenation, texture repair, and pigmentation reduction with astonishing results.
Here’s all you need to know about this new skin rejuvenation treatment.Â
WHAT EXACTLY IS TIXEL?Â
Tixel uses innovative thermo-mechanical ablative (TMA) technology to trigger your body’s natural response to heal and repair itself. Tixel simply delivers controlled heat at a high temperature directly to the skin, achieving desirable results. Tixel is able to resurface the skin by different levels of treatment. The versatility of Tixel allows for customized treatments for each patient's individual needs.Â
The more intensive treatment level uses Tixel in the ablative mode to create micro-burns of controlled damage to the skin, stimulating collagen production and skin tightening for overall skin rejuvenation. The open-channel mode is non-ablative and creates micro-channels in the top layer of the skin. The channels formed can be immediately used for infusing topical serums into the skin that address concerns such as tightening, rejuvenation, pigmentation, rosacea, and acne.Â
Tixel is suitable for use on the face, neck, decolletage, hand, and around the eyes. Body parts such as abdomen, knees and arms also get great results. Unlike laser or needling treatments, Tixel can be used on the eyelid and tear trough for a non-surgical eye lift.Â
HOW DOES TIXEL WORK?
Tixel is not a laser, but instead, it utilizes thermo-mechanical energy to create tiny channels into the skin, or at higher levels, providing anti-aging improvements to skin tone and texture by increasing collagen production.Â
Tixel utilizes a sterile titanium tip embedded with 81 tiny pyramid-shaped cones to rapidly deliver high levels of thermo-mechanical heat to the skin’s surface. Brief millisecond pulses treat the skin in a fractional mode, meaning small zones are treated but leave the surrounding skin untouched resulting in a minimized skin reaction. There are different settings for Tixel treatments depending on treatment goals and skin conditions and are highly adjustable in the depth of penetration into the skin and duration of the tip on the skin. The treatment levels offered at our medical spa are:Â
Open channel is a lighter treatment level. The heat applied to the skin creates channels in the upper layer of the skin. The channels can be immediately used to deliver a variety of corrective and beneficial products into the skin that address concerns such as skin laxity, pigmentation, melasma, and rosacea. There is little to no downtime and you can return to normal activities the next day.Â
Ablative is a deeper treatment that is used for rejuvenation and treatment of fine lines, wrinkles, and scarring. Results are comparable to those of a fractional CO2 laser resurfacing treatment or deep chemical peel. Recovery time can vary, and for 1-3 days, the skin can be pink and small micro-crusts will develop.Â
WHAT CAN TIXEL TREAT?Â
Tixel is safe for all skin types and offers a wide range of resurfacing options and is customizable for each patient’s needs. A series of treatments can benefit a variety of skin conditions, including:
- Skin tightening, to improve skin tone and texture
- Skin rejuvenation
- Acne and acne scarring
- Lines and wrinkles
- An eye lift, for sagging eyelids or undereye bags
- Uneven pigmentation and melasma
- Rosacea

TIXEL CAN TREAT PIGMENTATION
Omni Centers is excited to offer active treatments to target melasma and pigmentation conditions at our medical spa. Combined with active medical grade skincare ingredients, Tixel gives us an effective treatment for pigmentation, melasma, and other skin conditions.Â
TIXEL CAN TREAT THE EYE AREAÂ
Tixel is ideal for treating the delicate and tricky areas around the eyes, such as saggy eyelids, eye bags, and crow’s feet. As Tixel is not a light-based or laser treatment, it is possible to treat up to the lash line safely with minimal discomfort and downtime.Â
WHAT TO EXPECT DURING A TIXEL SESSION
Depending on the size and planned areas for treatment, sessions typically take 30-60 minutes to complete. As Tixel is applied to the skin, a warm sensation may be experienced and is usually well tolerated. Depending on treatment goals and skin condition, more or less aggressive settings will be utilized and are precisely controlled. Topical growth factors, exosomes, or medical-grade skin care products will be recommended to maximize results.
AFTERCARE AND RESULTS
Most patients experience a warm sunburned-like sensation for a few hours after treatment. Depending on the treatment level used, redness and swelling may occur at the treatment site and can last a few days. Most patients experience minor crusting which typically clears within 3-5 days.Â
Medical-grade sunscreen, like EltaMD, is highly recommended, and can be purchased at our medical spa. Makeup can usually be worn 48 hours after treatment. Most patients experience skin improvement after their first treatment, but 3-6 sessions are recommended for optimal and lasting results.Â
