WHAT IS MICRONEEDLING?
Our Olympia medical spa utilizes the FDA-cleared SkinPen device for traditional microneedling. The SkinPen is gently pressed against the skin and uses straight needles to penetrate at a 90 degree angle. This creates tiny micro- channels in the skin, signaling the need to heal and encouraging the skin to replace older, damaged cells with new, healthy skin. The small channels in the epidermis close very quickly and the skin begins a healing response of producing new collagen and elastin right away. The small channels also allow for topical creams and serums to be absorbed more effectively within deeper layers of the skin.
