WHAT IS PRP HAIR RESTORATION?

Platelet Rich Plasma, also known as PRP is a concentration of platelets and growth factors drawn from your own blood. Platelets are a rich source of proteins which can stimulate stem cells to help restore fibroblast activity and hair follicles.

By utilizing your own blood, we isolate the plasma which then becomes a condensed suspension of your own growth factors. PRP condenses and stimulates peripheral growth factors and stem cells at the delivery site to regenerate hair follicles and stimulate hair growth. Essentially using your body's natural capacity to heal and renew itself.

PRP for hair restoration is a non-surgical, non-invasive treatment for alopecia areata and androgenetic alopecia (hereditary male or female hair loss). This treatment can stop hair loss and stimulate new growth, all without a surgery. This treatment is ideal for those who are in early stages of hair loss but can benefit others as long as some hair follicles are present.

There is significant evidence that PRP offers improvement in hair growth in many patients. PRP is rich in specialized proteins called growth factors and cytokines that promote hair growth and healing.

WHY CHOOSE OMNI CENTERS PRP HAIR RESTORATION?

Omni Centers is proud to use cutting edge PRP systems that are at the forefront of the PRP industry with advanced spin techniques, the safest technology, and equipped with fully customizable product volumes and platelet concentrations designed to meet your unique needs.

We are passionate about PRP and dedicated to keeping up with the latest science and trends in the industry to make sure we are offing the best of the best. Additionally, our PRP Hair Restoration includes both injections and microneedling with the addition of testing to treat underlying conditions that may be attributed to hair loss.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING PRP HAIR RESTORATION

After your initial consultation with Omni Centers’ medical staff, your treatment will start with your scalp being cleansed and a topical numbing agent applied to the treatment area. Then with a simple blood draw your blood is collected into special tubes which are then spun down to remove red blood cells, leaving the platelet rich plasma. We offer the most comprehensive PRP treatment for optimal results. Omni Centers PRP Hair Restoration treatment utilizes both micro- needling and injections in your areas of concern on head. This ensures concentrated PRP to follicles with injections and increased blood flow and diffuse application of the PRP to the rest of the treatment area with microneedling. You can expect to look back to normal by the next day.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

PRP + Microneedling + Injection for Hair Growth

PRP Hair Restoration utilizes a series of injections in the targeted areas of your scalp with a multi tip needle taking only about 10 minutes. Injections are followed by microneedling of the PRP and platelet poor plasma (PPP) that is left over from PRP into the scalp. Additional stem cells or growth factors may be added at this point. This liquid gold PRP substance has concentrated amounts of growth factors taken from your own blood. The injections “wake up” hair follicles and the microneedling allows nutrients from our topical solutions, nutrients, growth factors, PRP and PPP to enter through the open micro-channels. A majority of results seen in 2-6 months. The doctor may make other recommendations such as testosterone blockers (either oral or topical), iron, or supplements to treat any underlying causes for hair thinning or loss.

There is no downtime post-treatment, and you can resume most regular activities immediately after the procedure (for individuals with long hair, hair can look messy from the microneedling and sticky from the PRP).

ARE YOU A GOOD CANDIDATE?

Because PRP therapy is non-invasive, nearly everyone is a good candidate for this hair restoration treatment. During your initial consultation, we will help you determine if this treatment is a good fit for you. Generally, PRP hair treatment is more likely to be effective if it is done during the early stages of hair loss. This is because PRP treatment cannot regrow hair in areas that are completely bald or lacking any hair at all. In other words, PRP restoration is more likely to produce desirable results if there are detectable hair follicles. These conditions often exist in areas with weak hair growth where hair is visibly thinner than what’s growing in surrounding areas.

Another common requirement for PRP therapy for any purpose is needing to be in generally good health. A PRP hair restoration method may not be right for you if you are on blood thinners, smoke heavily or have a history of excessive alcohol use. Other conditions that may include platelet disorders, infections and chronic diseases. If you take blood-thinning medications, you may also be advised to temporarily stop taking them to reduce your risk of experiencing bleeding problems. Be sure to bring in a list of all medications you are taking as well as any supplements and herbs.

TREATING UNDERLYING CONDITIONS

There are several things that can contribute to hair thinning or loss. Some of the most common factors are genetic (are still likely a good candidate for PRP Hair Restoration).

Hormonal (testosterone, DHT, DHEA and thyroid hormones) - can easily be assessed with a simple blood test. We may suggest a supplement, prescription, shampoo or topical solution to help balance hormones.

Stress: Cortisol is a hormone commonly known as the “stress hormone”. Your body produces more cortisol the more stressed you are. Depending on your genes, your body may turn cortisol into testosterone. Any hormonal imbalance, but particularly excess testosterone, can lead to hair loss. In other words, stress really can make your hair fall out. We may recommend supplements or lifestyle changes to help curb stress response.

Alopecia areata is an autoimmune skin disease that commonly results in hair loss on the scalp. It affects about 7 million people in the U.S. alone. You’ll be more likely to experience regeneration if you only have small areas of your scalp affected by alopecia areata.

COMBINING PRP WITH OTHER TREATMENTS

We recommend several products and services to enhance your Omni Centers Hair Regrowth results, these may include: Supplements: extra support nutrient that you may need for hair growth.

AnteAge® Hair homecare system: This kit is a great way to hack your hair growth by awakening the sleeping stem cells inside the hair follicle, returning them to a more youthful and active growth pattern. AnteAGE® Hair Serum uses WNT1 stem cytokines, polybotanicals, and a cocktail of natural stimulants to overcome the quiescence of hair follicle stem cells. When applied regularly, these pure isoflavones will create an optimal environment for growth cycles.

BEFORE & AFTER

FAQs

We take micro-needling to the next level by offering micro-needling in combination with PRP or Platelet Rich Plasma. PRP utilizes the body’s own materials to create a serum that increases the growth factors of your skin. The extracted platelets from your blood are associated with the healing process. The PRP solution is applied to your face during the micro-needling treatment as a lubricant, increasing the degree of healing.
PRP is a natural way to enhance the healing of your skin cells from the micro-needling treatment. The two therapies (micro-needling and PRP) work in synergy to create a treatment that delivers accelerated results capable of bringing better outcomes than each part could alone. Results may be seen immediately following treatment with more results showing over the next 4-6 weeks. The largest of the results will occur over the next six months as your body naturally treats itself while utilizing the PRP to heal.
First, a small amount of blood will be drawn from your arm and spun in a centrifuge to separate your cells into red blood cells, platelets, and plasma creating PRP. While your blood is undergoing the separation process, we will cleanse your face and prepare it for treatment by applying a topical anesthetic (numbing cream), which will help to diminish any pain that may be experienced during the treatment. Treatment will be performed by our Certified Master Estheticians in office and is done with a pen called SKINPEN. The pen has 14 very fine needles. These needles gently puncture the skin at various depths to create a controlled skin injury, which stimulates the release of growth factors and cytokines. The PRP solution is applied topically to your facial skin at the same time as the micro-needling is performed. Once the microneedling is complete the Doctor will then inject in specified areas for concentration.
It is typical to need at least 3 treatments, 4 weeks apart; however some people may experience desired results in fewer treatments.
The skin will be red and flushed, similar to a mild sunburn, for the first 12 hours to 3 days. You may experience some mild tightness, swelling, and/or peeling. Side effects typically resolve within 3 days.
