Trouble satisfying Army Body Composition Program regulations? CoolSculpting can provide benefits for more than just cosmetic purposes.
U.S. Army soldiers are screened generally every six months to make sure they meet the body fat standards. Soldiers are weighed, and commanders use a weight-for-height or BMI) table to determine if a soldier meets the standard. For example, for men, the maximum weight-for-height requirements convert to a body mass index (BMI) rating of 25 (considered overweight by National Institutes of Health). BMI is calculated by dividing your weight (in kilograms) by your height (in centimeters squared). This measurement does not make sense for everyone so in 2013 the Army changed a weight requirement to body fat standards. They did this to account for soldiers who are heavier than allowed by Army weight tables, but who have lower levels of body fat.
If the soldier exceeds the weight on the weight-for-height (BMI) charts, they are now measured for body fat. This is calculated using a circumference / chart method (or the tape-test), this measures the circumference of necks and waist in males to determine body fat percentage. This is where CoolSculpting can help!
CoolSculpting is a non-surgical fat-reduction treatment that permanently eliminates stubborn pockets of fat that are resistant to exercise and diet. This is a non-invasive procedure (no anesthesia, no needles, no downtime!). CoolSculpting is FDA approved to eliminate 20-25% of fat cells in the area that the applicator is applied. Although this does not translate into weight reduction (fat is light and fluffy), treating the abdomen and love handles can take inches off the circumference of the waist to help meet those measurement standards while still being able to return to normal activity right after treatment.
Meeting these body fat standards has been associated with advancing careers and CoolSculpting can help to achieve those body contouring goals. If CoolSculpting is not quite enough, we offer several options for weight reduction that can be standalone or combined with CoolSculpting. Omni Centers helps to reduce the CoolSculpting cost by offering discounts to active military and their immediate family. Remember to ask about additional savings through our referral program.
